2018 County Executive Candidates Forum Recap

2018-06-06T10:19:57-04:00June 6th, 2018|Uncategorized|

On May 24, Nonprofit Montgomery hosted a forum at Interfaith Works Clothing Center with candidates for Montgomery County Executive. Just weeks before the primary, the forum was one of the best attended this election season with over 200 in attendance.

The candidates for County Executive shared their visions for Montgomery County and addressed questions related to food security, youth development, early care and education, and other topics of particular concern to the nonprofit sector. We hope the forum fosters discussion among candidates and voters about issues that affect the nonprofit community and the people we serve.

We would like to thank the amazing moderator Armando Trull; the Forum Planning Committee: Shannon Babe-Thomas, Community Bridges, Inc., Monica Barberis-Young, Interfaith Works, Ann Mazur, EveryMind, Inc., Stephanie Rosen, NAMI Montgomery County, Susie Sinclair-Smith, Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, and Hillery Tsumba, Primary Care Coalition; the host Interfaith Works; and the candidates who joined us that evening.

We encourage everyone to share information about where, when and how to vote in the June 26 primary election. Remember, early voting begins on June 14.
