Facility Use Subsidy Program
CUPF’s new program subsidizes facility fees for classrooms, all-purpose rooms, and library meeting rooms for an activity by a Maryland-based, nonprofit organization that primarily serves vulnerable youth or low-income residents receiving financial assistance. Information and application instructions are on the CUPF website.

Opportunity for Dialogue, Nov 17
Nonprofit Montgomery convened a focus group of members in the summer to discuss challenges and ways to improve how nonprofits use public facilities in the County. Subsequently, Nonprofit Montgomery met with CUPF leadership about ways to foster a dialogue about nonprofit use of public facilities. The meeting is scheduled for Nov 17. Health and Human Services Releases FY16-FY18 Strategic Roadmap; Changes Expected with Contracts

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) released its new three-year strategic plan which will guide the Department’s work in key priority areas internally as well as with its nonprofit partners.

According to Department Director, Uma Ahluwalia, the “overall goal of the plan is a fully integrated system—where clients are connected to the full range of DHHS programs and services and staff have the support, tools and information necessary.” Click here to read Director Ahluwalia’s letter to DHHS’ nonprofit partners.

Also, the Department provided some important updates at the most recent Nonprofit Montgomery Advisory Committee to DHHS:

  • Anticipating another very tight fiscal year, HHS will be giving extra scrutiny to requests for FY16 budget modifications.

Community Development Advisory Committee Public Hearing, Oct 21

Montgomery County’s Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) will conduct a Public Hearing on community development needs. The CDAC recommends how the County’s competitively awarded federal Community Development Block Grant funds are used. The hearing will be held on Oct 21, 7:30pm at the Stella B. Werner Office Building, 7th Floor Council Hearing Room, 100 Maryland Ave., Rockville.
