Big Train Baseball: Nonprofits of the Night Sponsored by the Trawick Foundation

Bethesda Big Train Baseball will showcase and honor two nonprofits at each of their 24 home games this summer. Every Nonprofit of the Night will receive 100 free tickets, be able to display a banner and table, throw out the ceremonial first pitch and more. Childcare Demographics and Trends in Maryland

Maryland Family Networks released their two signature publications: Trends in Childcare 2016 and Childcare Demographics 2016–broken down by county (click here for Montgomery). These helpful resources provide a summary of the critical components of child care (demand, supply, and cost) from 2011 to 2020. The Montgomery County report provides detailed data on numbers of children and cost and availability of care. For example, the data indicates that a median income family ($1245,357) with two children can expect to spend 21% of their income on child care.

Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF) Updates and Public Forums

CUPF is migrating to a new web-based reservation software, ActiveMONTGOMERY, that will enable people to submit facility reservation requests for schools, athletic fields and County buildings. Beginning in 2016, all reservations must be made through ActiveMONTGOMERY.

CUPF will hold several public forums from February to May to provide an overview of changes, processes, deadline dates, etc., as well as to provide the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. For more information on the public forum dates click here.
