County Executive FY19 Budget Forums

Nonprofit leaders and staff, board members, and volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend these public forums on the county’s operating budget to share insight into community needs, and to hear the County Executive’s priorities.

The County Executive will release his Recommended Operating Budget on March 15, 2017 for the fiscal year that begins July 1, 2018.

The meetings, which all begin at 7pm are on:

A New Collaborative Disaster Response Effort Montgomery County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD)

The Montgomery County COAD is a collaborative effort of community stakeholders whose goal will be to organize and deploy community resources in an efficient and timely manner during each phase of a disaster.

An essential piece of forming a COAD is to ensure that all traditional and nontraditional disaster response agencies and organizations are invited to the table. Any organization that provides assistance during a disaster or would like to provide assistance is invited to join COAD.This includes any agency, business, non-profit, civic group, faith based organization, and any other community organization that may provide assistance to the community during a disaster. Montgomery County Council Town Hall Meeting for Students

The 7th Annual Montgomery County Council Town Hall Meeting for Students is on November 29 at 7pm at the Council Office Building. The Councilmembers want to gather thoughts and feedback from our County’s younger residents. A pre-meeting reception will begin at 6pm in the building’s second-floor cafeteria. At the reception, students will have a chance to meet with Councilmembers and talk with them in an informal setting.

2019 Community Services Grants Program
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services is accepting applications for theFY19 Community Services Grants Program. The submission deadline Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 3pm. A pre-submission meeting is on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 4-5pm at DHHS, 401 Hungerford Drive, Conf. Room 1A/1B.

RSVPs for the pre-submission meeting is encouraged. Email or call Alma Laxa at (240) 777-1211 by November 17.
