Grant Relief for On-Boarding Workers (GROW)

  • For businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, WorkSource Montgomery will award grants to cover 50-75% of a new employee’s salary for the first 12 weeks. Due October 29.

City of Rockville: Human Services Grant

  • Opens November 2021. Grants annually to local organizations that partner with the city to support human services access in the city.

  • For businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, WorkSource Montgomery will award grants to cover 50-75% of a new employee’s salary for the first 12 weeks.
  • Grants will be awarded upon receipt of verification of employment.
  • New employees must be a resident of Montgomery County and start within 30 days of the grant application date
  • The application period is Monday, October 4, 2021 through Friday, October 29, 2021

Arts Residencies in Schools Grants application preparation webinars

The Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) will host two free application preparation webinars to discuss the guidelines and online application process for the FY22 Arts Residencies in Schools Grants. Montgomery County Watershed Restoration and Outreach Grants

  • Nonprofit organizations such as local watershed groups, community associations, faith-based organizations, service and civic groups can now apply for grants ranging from $30,000 to $100,000 through the Montgomery County Watershed Restoration and Outreach Grant Program.

Food for Montgomery

  • a public-private initiative created to address the alarming spike in food insecurity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This RFP is for nonprofit partners committed to building a more resilient, efficient, nimble, and equitable food security system across Montgomery County.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

Project Restore Rental Assistance Grant (MD’s Dept. of Housing and Community Development)

  • The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development is administering $25 million to provide financial support to Maryland’s new or expanding businesses to help incentivize commercial investment in vacant retail and commercial properties.​​
  • Project Restore will provide two grant opportunities for businesses that plan on opening or expanding into previously vacant spaces. The County is holding an information session on this on September 10 at 11am. Click here for the County’s flyer.

Cherry Blossom Giving Circle

  • grant cycle will open on September 12 (application deadline is October 15.
  • 2021 grantees based on a demonstrated commitment to advance racial justice, combating racism, and dismantling systemic racism in the DMV area.

Wheaton Cultural Project Grants

  • Wheaton Cultural Project Grants (WCPG) support impactful projects within the Wheaton, MD community and provide professional opportunities for artists and scholars to work in Wheaton. Montgomery County based non-profit arts and humanities organizations, groups, artists, and scholars are invited to apply. Grants for FY22 will be awarded for activities occurring between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022.

Many Hands Grant

  • Many Hands grant funds must be used to serve women, children, and/or families in socioeconomic need.
  • four grants each year, one in each of four focus areas–economic empowerment, education, health, and housing.

Just Announced
Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC): Phase 2

Phase Two of the MoCo Economic Development Grant Program for Nonprofits will offer broader eligibility and is open to nonprofits that offer programming in Montgomery County and can specify how these funds contribute to economic development in the county.

Phase Two applications will open on August 9, 2021 and close August 18, 2021 5pm. The new program would provide competitively selected grants ranging from $7,500 to $25,000 with additional potential grants of $50,000 or $100,000. The funds will be distributed to all selected nonprofits no later than October 1, 2021 and the nonprofit must make use of the funds by no later than December 31, 2021.

The Carl M. Freeman Foundation: FACES (Freeman Assists Communities with Extra Support) Grants Program

  • targets smaller organizations that are often overlooked by funders. Grant awards are available at $10,000, $5,000, and $2,500 for a total grant award fund of $100,000.

The Horning Family Foundation (HFF): Racial Justice Initiative

  • in support of Black-led organizing and advocacy for efforts to change systems, policies, narratives, and practices that oppress and harm Black communities and other communities of color.
  • Grant applications are now being accepted for the first round of five-year grants totaling $2.5 million. Grants requests may range from $25,000 to $100,000 per year. The applications are due on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:59PM.

City of Rockville: Community Development Block Grant Program

  • federal grant for housing and community development projects that benefit low and moderate-income persons. Applications are due 9/27.

Deadline Extended: MoCo Economic Development Grant for Nonprofits
The MoCo Economic Development Grant Program for Nonprofits will provide competitively selected grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000. The grant is for Montgomery County nonprofits with initiatives that align with one (or more) of the four identified priorities: (1) Minority Entrepreneurship, (2) STEM Education, (3) Research and Innovation Development, and (4) Small-Scale Manufacturing.

The application deadline has been extended. The new due date is July 23, 5pm and award notifications begin August 16. Click here for more info and to apply.

The more than $309 million American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021 child care stabilization initiative provides grants to licensed providers that sustain the child care sector and build a stronger child care system.

Child care providers licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education no later than March 11, 2021 (as required by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021) are eligible to receive an American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021 Child Care Stabilization Grant if they are:

  • Open and available to provide child care services on the date the application is submitted, or
  • Temporarily closed on the date the application is submitted due to public health, financial hardship, or other reasons relating to the COVID-19 public health emergency, but commit to re-open to provide child care services no later than September 7, 2021.

Grant Period: August 6, 2021-March 6, 2022
Grant Awards Amounts: $15,000 base award and $300 per licensed slot
Grant Application Submission Deadline: August 6, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. EST
