Urban Institute: Catalyst Grant Program
The Urban Institute and the Microsoft Justice Reform Initiative have opened the Request for Proposals for the next round of the Catalyst Grant Program, due December 2. The program supports local 501(c)(3) nonprofits to launch projects using data and technology to advance racial equity in the adult criminal legal system in three front-end focus areas: prevention, policing, and prosecution.

City of Rockville: Human Services Grant
Opens November 2022. Grants annually to local organizations that partner with the city to support human services access in the city.

MD Dept. of Commerce: Child Care Capital Support Revolving Loan Fund
The Child Care Capital Support Revolving Loan Fund is a financing resource operated by the Department of Commerce, with support from the State Department of Education, to provide no-interest loans for capital expenses to child care providers who participate in the State Department of Education’s Child Care Scholarship Program.

MD State Dept. of Education: The Maryland Rebuilds Initiative
This is a competitive MSDE grant opportunity designed to support the state’s child care system in utilizing federal funds to stabilize, strengthen, and sustain the child care system and mitigate the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic.

TD Charitable Foundation: Non-Profit Training Resource Fund
Through this TD Charitable Foundation funded program, nonprofits can receive a grant for approved training to increase their organization’s capacity and skillset.

Digital Lift: Software Grant

Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County: Wheaton Cultural Project Grants
Wheaton Cultural Project Grants (WCPG) are available to arts and/or humanities organizations and groups located in Montgomery County, MD that may or may not be incorporated as non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status and individual artists and scholars who reside in Montgomery County, MD. Grants for FY23 will be awarded for activities occurring between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023. Application Deadline – Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

The Community Development Block Grant Program is a federal grant for housing and community development projects that benefit low and moderate-income persons. This grant funds capital repairs for nonprofit facilities or group homes that serve a majority low-to-moderate-income individuals.

The City of Rockville extended the due date for new applications to Friday, October 14, 2022.

MAFRAC Local Food Grant Application – Version 2.0 (h/t MoCo Food Council)
MAFRAC is offering funding to help local businesses and nonprofits source from local farmers and food businesses to alleviate the strain which the COVID-19 pandemic has on our food system. Applications for the next grant cycle are due by July 31, 2022.

FY23 Emerging Business District Grant Program
The purpose of the Emerging Business District Grant Program is to subsidize operations necessary to establish a non-profit commercial district management entity to conduct place making, place management, branding, and economic development activities in a neighborhood. The program must lead to the establishment of a Business Improvement District or an Urban District Corporation within Montgomery County.

WorkSource Montgomery: Grant Relief for Onboarding Workers (GROW)
GROW COVID-19 financial assistance is intended for business entities, both for-profit and not-for-profit, negatively impacted by the pandemic. WorkSource Montgomery will award grants in two tiers: one flat rate for part-time workers and one for full-time workers; meant to cover the cost of the first few weeks of onboarding training upon hiring. Greater Washington Community Foundation: Summer Round 2022
Health Equity Fund

  • The first grant round will invest in community practices and infrastructures that improve the prospects for economic mobility for Black, Latinx, Indigenous, people of color and other marginalized populations and the communities where they live in the District of Columbia.

DIVAs Giving Circle

  • Comprised of Montgomery County women who seek to enable youth to have life-changing experiences through the arts.

The Keith Campbell Foundation for the Environment Grant
The Campbell Foundation’s Chesapeake Initiative seeks to accelerate the pace of nutrient reduction in the Bay through engagement of diverse stakeholders and partnerships between agricultural interests and environmental concerns that forge new paths of working together.

  • The application deadline is August 31, 2022.

MD Dept. of Housing and Community Development: Project Restore
Provides financial support to Maryland’s existing or new businesses to help incentivize commercial investment in vacant retail and commercial properties. Project Restore provides two grant opportunities for businesses, including nonprofits, that are expanding, moving to or opening in a property that was previously vacant for at least six months:

  • Property Assistance Grant: Provides up to $30,000 for one year to support costs associated with rent, mortgage payment or property improvements as applicable.
  • Business Operations Grant: For businesses that generate sales and use tax, provides up to $250,000 per calendar year to support capital (property improvements, equipment etc.) and operating (staff salaries, marketing, inventory etc.) costs associated with business operations in the vacant property.
