New Changes for Nonprofits with County Contracts-Critical Updates from NM’s Advisory Board to DHHS

Nonprofit Montgomery regularly convenes a Nonprofit Advisory Board to meet with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to discuss concerns for the nonprofit community. These conversations provide the opportunity for two-way dialogue and for DHHS to address procedure and policies that can impact the nonprofit community. Facility Use Subsidy Program, Due April 1

CUPF subsidizes facility fees for classrooms, all-purpose rooms, and library meeting rooms for an activity by a Maryland-based, organizations/programs whose primary goal is to serve vulnerable youth or low-income people. These organizations also do not charge their participants or charge a minimal fee. Since January of this year, 10 applications have been processed, of which 8 were approved, with a combined savings of $11,110 to the awardees. CUPF strongly encourages all nonprofits who need school/government building space to apply by April 1.

CUPF’s new program subsidizes facility fees for classrooms, all-purpose rooms, and library meeting rooms for an activity by nonprofits that primarily serves vulnerable youth or low-income residents. This program has two application deadlines: Jan 1 and Apr 1, 2016. Information and application instructions are on the CUPF subsidy program website.

FY17 County Council and County Executive Funding Applications and Deadline

The FY17 County Council and County Executive grant application deadline is Wednesday, Jan 13, 2016. Applications must be submitted through the Online Grants Portal and should be available online.

The content will be the same at all three workshops and will include the grants process for both Council and County Executive Grants and a brief introduction to the application process.
