The Meyer Foundation Grant Deadlines

The Meyer Foundation conducts two rounds of grantmaking per year. Application deadlines are in February and July, with grant awards in June and October. Organizations may apply only once per year. Big Train Baseball Nonprofits of the Night – 10 Spots Left

Bethesda Big Train Baseball will showcase the nonprofits that make Montgomery County special. Big Train Baseball (a program of BCC Baseball) will honor two nonprofits at each of 24 home games played this June and July at Shirley Povich Field in Cabin John Regional Park.

Each nonprofit will receive 100 free tickets to the game, be included in the game-night program, get a table to display information, and have a representative throw out a ceremonial first pitch. If your nonprofit is interested in participating, email Bruce Adams for more information.

New Grant Opportunities

Junior League of Washington Opportunity Grant (April 6, 2018): provides grants to nonprofit organizations demonstrating an unexpected short-term financial need or smaller-denomination financial need related to their respective missions and/or operations.

Maryland Freedom Fleet Voucher Program (deadline: May 4, 2018): provides financial assistance for the purchase of new and converted alternative fueled vehicles registered in the state of Maryland.

Spay and Neuter Grants Program (March 30, 2018): provides competitive grants to local governments and animal welfare organizations that promote and provide free spay and neuter services to pets of low income Marylanders and to colonies of feral cats.

AIM Award – Call For Applications

The Center for Nonprofit Advancement announces the call for applications for the Advancement in Management (AIM) Award Competition. This annual award is presented to a local nonprofit for achievement in organizational management. One winner will receive a $20,000 cash grant, national recognition, and sector exposure. Up to two honorable mentions will receive a $2,500 grant award and feedback from a selection committee of seasoned experts. NBC’s Project Innovation Grant

The NBCUniversal Foundation launched Project Innovation, a grant program recognizing local nonprofits organizations that are leveraging technology to solve everyday problems. Grants of $225,000 will be given to nonprofits that are addressing local community issues in an innovative way. Grant categories include: Igniting Civic Engagement, Skills for the Digital Economy, and STEM/STEAM Youth Programming. Applications will be accepted until February 2.

Capital Improvement and Emergency Capital Improvement Project Grants 
Capital Improvement and Emergency Capital Improvement Project Grants assist arts and humanities organizations complete projects that involve structure or physical plant repairs. Capital Improvement Project Grants are contracted directly though Montgomery County Government’s Department of General Services, not the Arts and Humanities Council. Apply by January 16, 2018.

Free Youth Mental Health First Aid Training for Nonprofits

EveryMind has funding to provide Youth Mental Health First Aid to nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and other interested groups in Montgomery County at no cost (estimated value of $3500 per training). Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour evidence-based interactive training which teaches people how to help an adolescent experiencing a mental health, addictions challenge, or mental health crisis.
