The Atlantic and Allstate’s 2019 Renewal Awards
The Renewal Awards recognizes organizations and individuals that are finding creative solutions to America’s most pressing problems. Winners receive $20,000 in funding from Allstate; one of the winners will additionally be presented with the Allstate Youth Empowerment Award. Nominate nonprofits here by November 30.

Good Neighbor Grants (Jack Kent Cooke Foundation)
The Good Neighbor Grants program was established to identify and strengthen ties with youth-serving nonprofit organizations in the MD/DC/VA area that are helping students with financial need reach their full potential through education. Grant proposals are due November 1.

Healthcare Initiative Foundation Capacity Building Grant
The FY19 Capacity Building Grant round is now open and applications are accepted until December 7.

*The FY19 Grantee Training will be postponed until March. A survey will be sent to help with the planning of this upcoming forum.

Washington Area Women’s Foundation Funding Opportunity
Rainmakers Giving Circle (“Rainmakers”) sponsored by Washington Area Women’s Foundation is accepting RFPs from nonprofit organizations serving economically vulnerable girls and young women age 24 or younger living in the District of Columbia and Montgomery County. Many Hands DC Grant  
Many Hands DC is accepting applications for its 2019 grant cycle. All applications must be submitted online and are due by October 26. Many Hands is a women’s grantmaking organization that makes grants in four areas: Education, Health, Housing, and Job Readiness. Click here for more information.

Aaron Copland Fund for Music    
The Fund supports nonprofits that have a history of substantial commitment to contemporary American music. Applications are accepted until October 31, 2018.

2019 Kathleen A. P. Mathias Agriculture Energy Efficiency Program
The Maryland Energy Administration will provide grants on a competitive basis to farms/businesses in the agriculture sector to cover up to 50% of the cost of eligible energy efficiency upgrades, if applicable, after all other incentives have been applied. In FY19, there is up to $175,000 available for eligible energy efficiency measures.​ Visit the MEA website for more information.

Opportunity Grants Available from the City of Gaithersburg

Nonprofit Opportunity Grants will be awarded to qualified nonprofits that serve City of Gaithersburg residents (programs that address local community and human service needs). Funding is limited to organizations not currently under contract with the City. This year we were joined by Carolyn Chen, Council Grants Manager; Josh Watters, Montgomery County Office of Management and Budget; and Kristen Latham, Senior Legislative Analyst, Office of Legislative Oversight.

County Mini-Grants for Food Security, Applications Due September 4
Community organizations involved with food security issues are urged to apply for mini-grants ranging from $500 to $10,000 to improve capacity and infrastructure dedicated to increasing food security or to support inventive and collaborative approaches to reducing food insecurity. Funding for the grant program is included in the FY19 operating budget for the DHHS. Organizations can apply independently or in collaboration with other groups. Click here for more information

Greater Washington Community Foundation – Resilience Fund: Call for Proposals
The Resilience Fund is accepting proposals for rapid response grants to support efforts addressing changes to immigration policies or other regulatory rollbacks, and programs that expand access to citizenship and democracy.

Interested organizations located in or serving the Greater Washington region may submit a letter of inquiry for grants ranging from $10,000-$50,000 to address current or emerging issues affecting our neighbors and communities. Innovate for Good Challenge

The Innovate for Good Challenge sponsored by Independent Sector and Accenture recognizes organizations that are catalyzing social impact through the use of artificial intelligence, blockchain, or extended reality. Winners will receive a cash prize of $20,000 and up to $50,000 in professional services provided by Accenture to help support the winning solution. Three finalists will receive cash prizes and pro-bono coaching provided by Accenture. Applications are due July 23.
