The Easy County Job Fair will be on November 2 from 3-7pm at the East County Community Recreation Center in Silver Spring. There will be recruiters from public and private employers and various workshops will also be conducted on-site. Registration is encouraged.

Join Real Food for Kids Montgomery for the Real Food Festival on October 28, 9am – 1:30pm at the Concord St. Andrews United Methodist Church.The festival will feature a variety of workshops in two slots (9:30-10:30am and 10:45-11:45am) for kids and parents on cooking, nutrition, mindfulness, yoga and other wellness topics. The Montgomery County Charter Review Commission will hold a public hearing on October 18 at 7pm at the Council Office Building to receive feedback from residents about possible amendments to the Montgomery County Charter.

Strong leaders make for strong organizations. While County nonprofit organizations are seeking great leaders to serve on their boards of directors, local leaders are eager to lend their expertise to benefit our community. Leadership Montgomery and Nonprofit Montgomery are pleased to team up to launchBoardMatch Montgomery, a program that will prepare and match leaders for service on nonprofit boards.
We will kick off our program this fall with a pair of trainings developed by Capacity Partners–one for potential board candidates and one for nonprofits seeking new board members. Participants in these trainings will be eligible to participate in a high-touch matching process that will jumpstart the relationship between existing boards and board candidates.
