MORE Quarterly Alumni Skill-Building Sessions: How to Keep Data Secure

2022-04-20T12:51:11-04:00April 23rd, 2022|Events, Nonprofit Resources, Training Opportunities|

Has your organization formalized an approach to keeping your data secure? And by “data,” we’re not just talking about survey or focus group data, we also mean data collected from registration forms, intake questionnaires, donor records, and staff records. You don’t need an IT department or any fancy software to establish internal protocols for respecting and securing your organization’s data.

Join Sharp Insight and fellow MORE alums for the final in this year’s How To series: How to Keep Data Secure. We will review the phases of the data lifecycle and some key action steps that might be feasible for your organization. Data security might not sound like a fun topic, but we think you’ll enjoy walking through a real-world case study on the data lifecycle and Sharp Insight’s top data security actions that your organization can put into place right now.

Whether your organization is actively working on your internal data security processes or you’re just thinking about getting started with increased data security, this workshop is for you!

When: Wednesday, June 6, noon-1pm
Where: On Zoom. Click here to register.

Not sure how to evaluate your programs and work? Ready to take your data to the next level for grant applications and reporting? Consider MORE.

Nonprofit Montgomery’s MORE Training helps nonprofits learn about evaluation, and offers a deep dive into measuring impact and gauging program effectiveness.

MORE will strengthen your organization’s capacity to measure results by: understanding key evaluation terminology; assessing your organization’s capacity for evaluation; identifying external data and resources to strengthen evaluation efforts; and more.

MORE is a hands-on approach for nonprofits who are new to evaluation or who need to improve their evaluation practices. The program provides a framework for understanding evaluation and includes tools, individual consultation and time to plan as a team.

Who should participate: Nonprofit organizations located in or serving the residents of Montgomery County. Nonprofits participate in MORE as a team of up to four senior leaders.
When: March 14, 21, 28, April 4, 11, all 10:30am-noon and consultations in April/May

How to Refine Survey Design
MORE Quarterly Alumni Skill-Building Session

Crafting the perfect survey, or even just a pretty good one, can feel like a daunting process. Data and evaluation experts at Sharp Insight will help you refine that process by reviewing the key elements to consider when approaching survey design and then walk through their survey design template.

The template will ease the survey design process while efficiently identifying the alignment between survey items and survey objectives. It can even help kickstart your data analysis plan right from the start of your survey process.

When: Monday, February 28 at noon-1pm
Who: recommended for MORE Alumni, but open to all.
Where: on Zoom. Click here to register.
