Montgomery County Council Releases Community Grants Report Today
The Montgomery County Council just released an Office of Legislative Oversight report on the Community Grants process. The report includes recommendations for changes in the grants process.

The report is a thorough examination of the origins of the grants program, including changes that have been both recommended and implemented over the years. It outlines a number of recommendations for making the County Grants process more fair, transparent, and more closely aligned with County Departments. The need to clearly define the purpose of the grants program as a whole is a major recommendation to the County Council. Nonprofits that obtain funding through the Community Grants process are encouraged to read through the detailed recommendations and to express opinions at the upcoming public forum.

The public forum will be held on October 9 with opportunities for public testimony. We ask that any and all members submit testimony and attend the forum if possible. It is critical that the voices of the nonprofit sector are represented at this forum.

2018 County Grants Dialogue Update – County Executive and County Council Grants Process

On August 7 Nonprofit Montgomery held its annual County Executive and County Council Grants Process Dialogue. We had over 40 people in attendance and received amazing feedback from the grants team.

Nonprofit Montgomery would like to thank Carolyn Chen, Council Grants Manager; Josh Watters, Montgomery County Office of Management and Budget; and Kristen Latham, Senior Legislative Analyst, Office of Legislative Oversight for an informative and insightful event. We would also like to thank the Jewish Social Service Agency for hosting our event.
