Nonprofit Montgomery Code of Conduct
Nonprofit Montgomery is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all our members. To that end, we have developed the following Code of Conduct, which we expect all members to abide by:
- Respect: We expect all members to treat each other with respect, kindness, and consideration, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ability, or any other aspect of diversity. We will not tolerate any behavior that is disrespectful, discriminatory, harassing, or offensive. This includes language, actions, or behaviors that are derogatory, demeaning, or dismissive.
- Equity: We prioritize equity in all our work and expect our members to do the same. We recognize and address systemic barriers that prevent marginalized groups from accessing resources and work towards equitable outcomes for all.
- Transparency & Accountability: We are committed to transparency and accountability in all our actions and decisions. We will communicate openly and honestly with each other and hold ourselves accountable for our actions.
- Collaboration: We value collaboration and encourage our members to work together towards our shared goals. We believe that everyone has something to contribute and that diverse perspectives lead to better outcomes.
- Confidentiality: We recognize that our members may share sensitive or confidential information with us. We expect all members to maintain confidentiality and not share this information with anyone outside of our organization without explicit permission.
- Learning: We believe in continuous learning and growth. We encourage our members to listen to and learn from each other, and to be open to new ideas and perspectives.
- Conflict of Interest: We expect all members to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest and to refrain from engaging in any activity that would compromise their objectivity or impartiality.
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind.
- Speech that involves false or unsubstantiated claims that defame or tarnish the reputation of an organization or individual.
- Unauthorized use of organizational resources or information.
We take these standards seriously and will take appropriate action if any member violates them. This may include suspension or termination of membership.
By agreeing to be a member of our organization, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all.
