It’s been ten years since Nonprofit Montgomery was born out of the Community Foundation from conversations about the need for nonprofit advocacy and capacity building in the County.
We celebrate a decade of impact and new milestones reached in 2018/2019, including:

  • over 160 member organizations with steady growth.
  • 85% of members actively engaged with Nonprofit Montgomery through attending a program, convening or connecting for resources or advocacy.
  • over 500 attendees at programs annually.
  • active advocacy and leadership on behalf of the nonprofit sector with County elected officials and government leaders, achieving contract increases and policy wins for nonprofits.
  • an engaged board who bring the collective wisdom of years of nonprofit leadership.
  • Montgomery Moving Forward – a vital collective impact initiative that engages across all sectors of the community and is currently advocating for an effective equitable system of early care and education in Montgomery County.
  • FIRM, MORE, the Nonprofit Impact Series and other programs.

In 2019, after several years under fiscal sponsorship, Nonprofit Montgomery obtained 501(c)(3) status and is now established as an independent nonprofit. And in two weeks we will celebrate a new office space and training facility as we move with Leadership Montgomery to the new Leadership Hub in Rockville.

On behalf of the Nonprofit Montgomery team, thank you to our members, funders, and partners. It is a privilege to work with Montgomery County’s nonprofit leadership and staff, and to support the important work of improving our community and helping County residents thrive.
