The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) released its new three-year strategic plan which will guide the Department’s work in key priority areas internally as well as with its nonprofit partners.
According to Department Director, Uma Ahluwalia, the “overall goal of the plan is a fully integrated system—where clients are connected to the full range of DHHS programs and services and staff have the support, tools and information necessary.” Click here to read Director Ahluwalia’s letter to DHHS’ nonprofit partners.
Also, the Department provided some important updates at the most recent Nonprofit Montgomery Advisory Committee to DHHS:
- Anticipating another very tight fiscal year, HHS will be giving extra scrutiny to requests for FY16 budget modifications.
- A new criminal background check policy and accompanying advisory are still in development. HHS hopes to have it in place for the FY17 contract cycle. NM will work with HHS to deliver training for impacted nonprofits.
- Cyber security insurance requirements are being phased into contracts. NM will offer training on cyber security including recommended insurance as part of our FIRM Alumni Series in early 2016.
